Feature Level 18 – Endless Cycles I

Endless Cycles I

At first glance, Endless Cycles I can feel a little stingy with its clues. If you approach it using only the familiar rule that every row and column must contain one of each colour, you may find yourself running out of obvious moves surprisingly quickly.

That is the trap.

The key observation is that the board appears to mirror itself across the diagonal running from the top-left corner to the bottom-right. Once you start looking at matching positions on either side of that line, information begins to travel across the grid. A rune discovered in one area can suddenly tell you something useful somewhere completely different.

What first looks like a puzzle with very few clues gradually opens up into something much richer. Small deductions combine together, patterns reinforce one another, and gaps that seemed impossible to fill start to narrow down.

And if you still find yourself stuck, keep an eye on the rainbow rune. Used at the right moment, it can provide just enough information to get the rest of the board moving again.

This level is a good reminder that in RuneGrid, clues are not always given directly. Sometimes the most useful hint is a pattern hiding in plain sight.
